Retirement Beyond the Usual Playbook

We entered the workforce at a time when women pursing careers was still new ground.  We stayed longer, went further, and invested more of ourselves in our work than previous generations.  That's why there are no role models for what we do next.

And for women whose careers were driven by purpose, retiring often carries more weight.

You didn't stay for the title or the pay cheque. You stayed because the work mattered, because people counted on you, and because you understood what needed to be done.

Your work has been demanding.

Our kind of career doesn't come with a simple exit.  Some of us make a full break. Others want to scale back gradually or continue in a new capacity. And what draws us into our next chapter can vary too: more zest, more purpose or a combination of both.

That's why I focus on modern retirement beyond the usual playbook.

I help women navigate retiring and shift from striving to thriving.

Michelle's passion to support women who want to advance in new directions in their next chapter provided me with information that I could put to use right away.

Smart Moves for Modern Retirement

I work with women who are wondering how to retire from a long career or begin a modern retirement.

The usual advice is to set your goals and map out the steps.  But if you've spent decades in a demanding career (and perhaps caregiving responsibilities too) it's likely you've had little time to envision what you want next.

Modern retirement doesn't depend on waiting until you've defined your grand plan.  You navigate this life transition by choosing a direction, taking intentional  action, and using what you learn to decide what you do next.  That's how you can discover possibilities you couldn't even have imagined.

I've developed two actionable transition strategies. The Career Off-Ramp Process helps you choose the way to retire that will suit you best. The Next Chapter Navigator Process guides you to get your bearings, identify what moves you and discover your next chapter personal path.

I'm here to guide you with smart moves so you can become enthusiastic about your future in a modern retirement.

My Story

I have graduate degrees in both social work, and design, measurement & evaluation.  One taught me how to help people move through transitions. The other gave me skills to design programs with impact.  I've brought all of this to my work at Into Prime Time.

After 30+ years in human services and health care, I found myself without structure, without my professional identity and wasn't sure what was next.  I understand the challenges retiring can bring. And I've been through more than a few life transitions myself.

I once traveled round-the-world on an open ticket.  I used what I learned at each stop to decide my next place.  This strategy is now integral to the process I share with women who don't yet have a vision for what's next.
